ENTICE Project Description

Since January 2025, OREDCSYS is part of the ENTICE project funded by the Horizon Europe Program. As a Swiss partner, ORDECYS is funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). ENTICE is a four-year project and is scheduled to run until December 2028.

ENTICE aims to ENhanced understanding of Trade Impacts on Climate, industries, and the Environment. The approach combines a set of economic models that will be enhanced by data development and new theoretical approaches. The ENTICE project will explore the trade-climate nexus in close collaboration with stakeholders.

In this consortium, ORDECSYS is mainly contributing to the project by providing its computable general equilibrium model GEMINI-E3, which is part of the ENTICE model ensemble. ORDECSYS will improve the representation of international trade in GEMINI-E3 and contribute to the analysis of the interactions between trade and climate policies. ORDECSYS will also use its SORMAC model to study alternative approaches to modeling international trade in an infinite-horizon optimal control model.

ENTICE is coordinated by E3 Modelling from Athens and includes 16 partners. One from France (SEURECO), two from Germany (Wuppertal Institut and The ZEW - Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research), three from Greece (E3 Modelling, ICCS and Holistic), four from Italy (CMCC, eNextGen, Politecnico di Milano and University of Verona), two from the Netherlands (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Utrecht University), one from Poland (Reform Institute), one from the United Kingdom (The University of Southampton) and one from the United States of America (the Global Trade Analysis Project from Purdue University)
